Conducted the upgrade, migration, and theming from Drupal 6 to 7. Currently maintaining and building out new requests.

  • Redeveloped the theme layer in Zen5 to provide a responsive layout.
  • Negotiated content strategy with the design team to update data models.
  • Rebuilt with the new Information Architecture through numerous combinations of Views, Context, and Entity References.
  • Migrated over a dozen content types while maintain references, images, links, and file attachments.

Built media websites to accompany the numerous magazine titles produced by this publisher. Development over this time was split between extending Drupal 6 sites while building out new sites in Drupal 7. My role has been largely to negotiate the business objectives into site functionality, built in Drupal, and theme it.

  • Outlining, architecting, and building complex, content heavy magazine websites.
  • Until 2013 all site building has been done in Drupal 6.
  • Played a pivotal role in making the case to management and shareholders to make the move to Drupal 7 and adopt responsive design.
  • Negotiated numerous business objectives and enhancements among editors, designers, and developers. For 6 sites we used Domains to run them all on a single installation.

Developed websites based on the robust, PHP driven content management system known as Drupal. Understanding the needs of a business and their environment was always a first step before the design process. Websites were built to take advantage of best practices in the realm of on-page SEO, social media integration, and responsive designs to fit the variety of screen sizes introduced by the wave in mobile usage.

Produced course workbook materials and slideshow presentations for speakers and students attending multi-day boot camps. Demonstrated the ability to bridge expert knowledge into words and terms that could be better understood by students.

  • Produced professional PowerPoint Presentations with accompanying workbooks, manuals, and materials that averaged 80+ pages that were in sync with live presentations.
  • Demonstrated the keen ability to take complex lessons and sequence them out in such a way that significantly enhanced the students’ understanding of the topics.
  • Used InDesign as the primary tool for publishing lengthy, multi-page manuals that incorporated numerous sections, illustrations, inserts, and marketing materials.

Responsible for all matters that directly related to customer satisfaction and internet marketing. Produced monthly email newsletters to our email list and created content to fill out each edition. Organized weekly social media/e-mail/ad campaigns to draw an attendance to our weekly live webinars for an entire year (48 weeks out of 52). Built up online communities that involved thousands of friends and followers on Facebook Groups, Pages, and Twitter account. Responsible for troubleshooting client websites.

  • Led marketing campaigns that made us first adopters in our niche of providing real estate investors with lead capture real estate websites.
  • Organized weekly GoToWebinar events through our email list, social media accounts, and website. Personally presented on both Social Media Marketing and Local SEO.
  • Synergized and arranged the marketing interests of guest presenters and our own to provide a win-win-win between our company, the presenter, and the students.

Under a Bachelors of Individualized Studies I focused on Marketing, Global Studies, and Latin American Studies. Through my course load I grew to understand globalization, how it shapes the world, and most importantly to recognize global trends. Studying marketing along side with globalization suited me perfectly in building a global perspective and framework for how the world wide web operates. Now I get to make things that operate on the world stage.
